Be active in your community

Get Involved

There are lots of ways to become an active member of our parish. Below are some of the positions with the greatest need.

SAM Camera Operative

2 hours every 2 weeks

It is vitally important to monitor the speeding throughout our villages. The SAM camera in Upwell is rotated in position or changes from its one in three positions every two weeks. This gives the best coverage. The information is sent to the local beat manager for Norfolk Constabulary. With a fall in police numbers in recent years, the SAM camera allows us to take an active approach against speeding and inform the police. We are currently in need of a volunteer to help lift and rotate the SAM camera every 2 weeks. Please, get in touch using the link below if this is something you can help with.

Upwell Village Hall Committee Member

committee meetings and events

The Upwell village hall is a great asset to the community. It is a space for local groups to come together and share common interests or available for party hires. It is owned by the community and so run by community volunteers. The Upwell village hall committee is in need of additional members to ensure the hall is run effectively. If you could come with new ideas of how to utilise the space and make the most of the hall for the community that would be great! Please, get in touch using the link below if this is something you can help with.
