Help Lily help others
The team responsible for the Lily on-line directory are asking for the help of local communities this Christmas. A special section is being created on the asklily.org.uk website to list all of the things that are available to people in the community over the Christmas period. They are asking for anyone in the community who is providing a service to help reduce loneliness and isolation over Christmas, or providing vulnerable people with meals so that they get something to eat on Christmas day, to get in touch so that the availability of those services can be shared amongst those who might need it. Lily Co-ordinator, Rebekah Bensley-Mills, said: "We want to know about everything from Christmas dinner and mince pie deliveries to virtual carol concerts and online pantos. "It is also important to know what services are going to be open over the Christmas period providing essential support for the most vulnerable. "Christmas is a tough time for many every year, but this year with so many restrictions in place it could be worse than ever. Traditional lunch gatherings, family visits and churchgoing will all be affected and could leave many feeling very lonely and isolated. The more information we can gather, the more likely we will be able to put vulnerable people in touch with someone or something that will help." Anyone can add their own listing to the website or they can can in touch and the Lily team will add it.
